THE REVOLUTION LABYRINTH

presenting... the revolution labyrinth

the revolution labyrinth has at its entrance and exit paths - where u-turns have usually been made - the path continuing straight on through it. it represents re-tracing, returning, a wheel turning, been-here-once-before, a lesson learned, a cycle, a breakthrough, the long way round, renewal.

the revolution labyrinth is dedicated to... anyone who ever found they’d come full circle.

how to...

guide: the path of the revolution labyrinth forms intersection with itself, and at these intersections, just walk straight ahead; there isn’t any left or right turn. easy!

they have a numbering system to describe them, but i ended giving them names as well.

THE CROSSING LABYRINTH

introducing... the crossing labyrinth.

there is still one single path, and it crosses through itself at some turns; so at these crossings, the next track you are led to is two tracks away. this style is named after a mountaineers’ hitch known as an italian hitch, which is based on a knot called the crossing knot. in this labyrinth walk, the crossing can be symbolic of many things, including a place, an event, opportunity, people, relationships, callings, meetings, adventure, chances, loss, vocations, seasons, revisitings.

the crossing labyrinth is dedicated to: the art of migrating - the great crossing... and my grandparents’ epic journeys.

guide: it may take a bit of getting used to, but it’s simply a case of following the path ahead, as you are led; if you’re walking on the path as it curves at a crossing, just follow it round and continue on the curve till it straightens out; if on a straight stretch heading towards a crossing, just follow straight ahead [you’ll go through two consecutive crossings].

THE CROSSING REVOLUTION LABYRINTH

the crossing revolution labyrinth has:
crossings at u-turns, and the path continuing on through the entrance and exit paths, thus creating intersections with the mid-line.

the crossings and revolutions form an integrated path that freely travels through and across itself; its nature is for time/ place/ event/ or any combination of the above, to coincide. e.g. ‘same incident, different day’; ‘same place, different incident’; ‘same day, familiar incident’; ‘seen this grass before’ (etc.)

HYBRIDS

the hybrid is a mix, it’s a new breed, it has a bit of everything. they are born to work, they love to toil and grind. they have lent themselves to this industrial look - of steel and concrete...

like the gears of a machine, the watch that is the universe in motion they keep turning, as we walk them. all hail the supreme watchmaker.

[they have a crossing u-turns and plain u-turns. also note that the ‘3-circuit crossing revolution labyrinth’ is a ‘hybrid’.]

THIRDS

crossings are made along axes that are at 120 degrees from each other -
plenty more to choose from, just ask!

also note that the ‘3-circuit revolution labyrinth’ is a ‘third’.
